11th Boston Turkish Festival
Documentary & Short Film Competition
November 24-30, 2006
at the Harvard Film Archive and the Museum of Fine Arts

Festival will be comprised of two parts:
1) Competition Section;  
2) Non-Competitive Section

Filmmakers or producers may submit the films to the competition section or
non-competitive section. There is no thematic limitations on films.

Films can be submitted in VHS or DVD format (two copies); in the competition
section only one film can be submitted by each competitor. Only films subtitled in
English or in English will be accepted.
 
Films which participated in other competitions or awarded documentaries can
participate in the Festival.

Documentaries or short films do not have to be filmed particularly for this
Festival, but they have to be filmed at least within the last two years from the date
of the festival.

Applications can be made until September 5, 2006 (to be received by that date).
All those submitting films or videos will be informed by e-mail whether their entry
has been included in the Festival program. The screening prints or tapes need to
arrive in Boston two weeks before the opening date of the Festival.

The viewing tapes or DVDs submitted will not be returned.

No film selected may be withdrawn from the Festival program after its publication.

By entering their film, applicants signify their willingness to abide by these
regulations. Any issues not clarified by these regulations shall be adjudicated by
the Festival administration.

The members of the juries will be appointed by the Festival Director. The Juries
for Documentary and Short Films consist of three to five members.

The Juries shall decide on the award of the following prizes (subject to change):







Documentaries:


One Turquoise Tulip Award for the best documentary film accompanied by a
check for $1,000
   
Short films and videos:

One Turquoise Tulip Award for the best short film accompanied by a check for
$1,000

Alongside the jury awards non-monetary audience awards for the best
documentaries and short films will also be given.  

Juries may decide to split the first prizes among multiple competitors.
